Dame Julia Cleverdon is a passionate and practical campaigner who has gained an international reputation for ‘connecting the unconnected’ and inspiring individuals and organisations to work together for the common good. As Vice President of Business in the Community and a former Special Adviser to The Prince’s Charities, Julia promotes collaboration among senior leaders from business, government, education and community organisations to build a more robust civil society. Julia plays leadership roles in many charities aiming to transform education and opportunities for young people. She was Chair of Teach First from 2006 to 2014, and is now Vice Patron.

She was appointed to chair the National Literacy Trust in 2013. Julia is a co-founder and trustee of Step Up To Serve, a Deputy Chair of the Fair Education Alliance and a board member of the National Citizen Service and Teach for All. Julia chairs Transform - an alliance of Teach First, Police Now, Unlocked, Think Ahead and Frontline to collaborate on the many common issues facing public service leadership, and inspire a whole new generation to take up critical community impact professional roles.
