The FSQ was first created in 2018 as a tool to measure the impact of employer engagement activities on young people’s outcomes. The findings from this research are published here.

We are now revising the FSQ to track student progress in developing career knowledge and skills throughout secondary education. Embedding the FSQ within Compass+ will enable Careers Leaders to plan and evaluate their career programmes and to tailor support. The new FSQ is designed to evaluate a whole career programme and is not appropriate as a pre-/post- measure for individual career activities.

We’ll be publishing a report on the consultation and development of the questionnaires in April 2021. This will set out how the questionnaire was developed and its intended use. Guidance and training resources will follow in the summer term. From April 2021 we will test the FSQ digital tool within Compass+, with the aim of a full roll out in September 2021.
