Brightside is an online mentoring charity working with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, helping them to make confident and informed decisions about their future. Cogent Skills is the employer-led skills organisation for the science industries. We facilitate a network of industry professionals who engage and inspire young people about careers in science industries. These Ambassadors work with young people, parents, teachers and careers advisers to promote STEM careers through school and college visits, careers fairs and industry visits. Cogent promotes opportunities to Ambassadors. As they are volunteers, engagement is dependent on location/availability. Targeted delivery in schools is only offered through specific funded projects.

Debate Mate

Over 10 years we have taught 60,000 young people globally, with 5,000 participating each week. We deliver after-school debating clubs, student training, teacher training and partnership projects.
