The government’s Careers Strategy and statutory guidance means that all secondary schools and colleges should have a named Careers Leader in place by September 2018.

We will invest in training providers to enable the development of new and existing high-quality training programmes, giving staff training to become Careers Leaders in schools and colleges across England.

Funding available for training providers

We are currently accepting funding applications from training providers who can bid to provide high quality training programmes for Careers Leaders in schools and colleges across England. We want to make training available for at least 500 schools and colleges across England to help Careers Leaders develop in their roles.

Alongside this we will commission the development and hosting of online self-study resources for Careers Leaders, available nationally for schools and colleges that can't attend training.

Who can apply?

We are looking for bids from training providers that can demonstrate a track record of delivering training to staff in schools and colleges that are in leadership roles.

We are also looking for bids from organisations with a track record of developing and delivering online resources to support professional development in schools and colleges.
