Careers and Enterprise Fund 2016

Wave 1: Opportunity Areas

  • Goal: To support the delivery of employer encounters for young people from disadvantaged areas in the first wave of the Government’s Opportunity Areas.
  • Investment: £1.0m in 2017/2018, and £1.0m in 2018/19.
  • Impact: 60,000 young people reached.

Wave 2: Scaling up best practice

  • Goal: To support best practice in careers and enterprise activities through scaling up, testing and evaluating common careers activities.
  • Investment: £3.8m
  • Impact: 130,000 young people reached.

  • Goal: To support activities that directly result in more and higher quality careers, enterprise and employer engagement activity across England, targeting geographic areas of need.
  • Investment: £5.0m
