We are delighted to announce that we have appointed John Yarham as our new Deputy Chief Executive.

John has more than 20 years’ experience in the employment and skills sector and is currently the Chief Executive of the Futures Group. Head quartered in Nottingham, Futures are a social enterprise supporting tens of thousands of young people and adults with their next steps in careers, as well as supporting businesses with their recruitment and training needs.

During John’s tenure, Futures became the first careers service in the country to be judged as Outstanding by Ofsted. Before joining Futures, John was Director of Economic Development at Nottingham City Council. John is a trustee of several charities and the Vice-Chair of Careers England.

John will begin his new position in April, working alongside our Chief Executive Claudia Harris. He will work with her to help deliver the organisation’s new mandate, broadened by the government’s 2017 Careers Strategy. That mandate is to help all schools and colleges to deliver world class careers support for all young people. 

Over the next two years the organisation will help lead the development of 40 Careers Hubs, help train a new generation of careers leaders in every school and colleges, and support national progress against the ‘Gatsby Benchmark’ standards or world class careers education.
